About Your Instructor Samantha
Pole Instructor | Lyra Instructor | Remedial Massage Therapist
My first experience with pole dancing was in 2015 on the Gold Coast, QLD, and it completely transformed my perspective on movement and strength. The joy of climbing the pole, creating momentum, and exploring spins and shapes on a static pole was unlike anything I had experienced before. It was empowering in every sense of the word.
In 2017, I took my first official pole lesson at Coffs Coast PoleFit, and that was the moment I truly fell in love with the sport. From there, pole fitness became not just a passion, but a foundation for my movement journey.
Expanding Into Aerial & Circus Arts
In 2019, I expanded into circus and aerial arts, training in Silks, Trapeze, Teardrop (Hammock), and Lyra under the guidance of the incredible Shayla Waterson. While Silks had always been a dream, it was Lyra that truly captured my heart.
I continued developing my Lyra skills through private lessons, dedicated daily practice, and learning from talented instructors both online and in person. I also invested in my own Lyra, allowing me to deepen my aerial training and technique consistently.
Teaching, Certification & Injury-Aware Training
I began teaching pole fitness in 2020, becoming certified through the International Pole Dance Fitness Association (IPDFA) at the Pro Pole Instructor Beginner and Intermediate levels.
Through teaching, I quickly recognised how essential off-the-pole conditioning, body awareness and biomechanics are for preventing injury and supporting long-term progress. This understanding led me to BarreBody, a method that strengthened both my body and mindset, and continues to influence how I teach posture, strength, and sustainable movement.
In 2024, I further expanded my teaching qualifications by completing my Lyra Instructor Certification with Spin City, continuing to build my skills as a pole and aerial instructor.
Performance & Competition Experience
In 2023, I unexpectedly fell in love with competing alongside my sister as the duo Sisarray. Sharing the stage together became one of the most rewarding and creative experiences of my pole journey.

A Holistic, Supportive Teaching Approach
As a Remedial Massage Therapist, I’m constantly exploring how biomechanics, recovery, and strength training work together to optimise performance and prevent injury. This knowledge informs every class I teach, allowing me to tailor instruction to individual bodies, goals, and experience levels.
Whether you’re looking to build strength through pole dancing, develop aerial Lyra skills, or explore new ways to move with confidence, my goal is to support you in a safe, positive, and empowering environment. Each lesson is an opportunity to grow, challenge yourself, and build a deeper connection with your body.
